At Center Church of Truth Korean School, we begin this fall semester with a great vision: “To know our Korean roots and know God, so that we may be the light and salt of the world.” South Korea, having risen from the ruins of the Korean War 70 years ago, has achieved the "Miracle on the Han River" and is now a global leader in industries such as semiconductors, automobiles, and shipbuilding. It also leads cultural trends through K-culture in this era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, enjoying the most remarkable period in its 5,000-year history. What made such a proud and advanced Korea possible? It was the fruit of: • the deep Christian faith ignited by missionaries over 100 years ago, • the passionate spirituality of the Korean people striving to follow God's will, • the unique spirit and culture handed down through 5,000 years, • and the diligence and perseverance characteristic of Koreans. Today, Korea is a nation blessed by God, sending missionaries across the globe to share His love. That’s why our Korean School in Chicago considers it our mission to teach Korean language, culture, and the Christian faith to: • second-generation Korean Americans growing up in the U.S., • and non-Korean students who desire to learn Korean culture and language. Our school is filled with teachers full of love and passion—for God, for our students, and for Korea—who are eager to meet and teach you. Warm regards, Hansung Kim Principal, Center Church of Truth Korean School 안녕하세요. 저희 시카고 진리 한국학교는 “한국의 뿌리를 알고 하나님을 알아 세상의 빛과 소금이 되자”는 큰 뜻을 가지고 올해 가을학기를 시작하게 되었습니다. 70년전 6.25전쟁의 폐허로부터 한강의 기적을 이룬 대한민국은 이제 반도체, 자동차, 조선 등의 산업 선진국으로서 4차 산업 혁명과 K문화가 세계의 문화를 주도하며 5천년 역사에서 가장 찬란한 부흥의 시기를 보내고 있습니다. 이러한 자랑스러운 선진 한국이 된 것은 100년 전 선교사님들로부터 시작된 우리나라 기독교 역사속에서 하나님을 열심히 믿고 그분의 뜻을 따르려는 많은 한국인의 신앙적 열정, 5천년동안 내려온 한국인의 얼과 문화, 그리고 한국인 특유의 근면과 성실이 어우러진 결과라고 할 수 있습니다. 현재 대한민국은 많은 선교사들이 세계 곳곳에서 하나님의 사랑을 전하는 나라가 되어 하나님의 축복을 받는 나라가 된 것 입니다. 그래서 저희 시카고 진리 한국학교는 미국에서 자라는 우리 2세와 한국의 말과 문화를 배우려는 외국인들에게 한국의 얼과 문화, 하나님을 향한 신앙을 전수하는 것을 사명으로 삼고 열심히 학생들을 가르치고자 합니다. 시카고 진리 한국학교에는 학생들과 하나님, 대한민국을 향한 사랑과 열정이 충만한 선생님들이 학생들을 기다리고 있습니다. 저희 한국학교에서 여러분과 여러분의 자녀들을 보게 되기를 바랍니다. 하나님의 은혜와 사랑이 여러분의 가정에 충만하길 기원합니다. 시카고 진리 한국학교 교장 김한성 |
